Takeoff's Birthday Event: A Celebration of Love and Legacy at Takeoff Mural on the Atlanta BeltLine

On June 18, 2023, Takeoff's family, friends, and devoted fans gathered at the renowned Takeoff mural, located on the Atlanta BeltLine, to celebrate the rapper's 29th birthday. This heartfelt event brought together loved ones and supporters to honor the memory of Takeoff, one of the members of the esteemed rap group Migos. Among the attendees were Takeoff's mother, grandmother, uncle and bandmate Quavo, brother Lingo, and little sister Heaven. Shara, Takeoff's aunt who is Quavo's sister, also graced the event with her presence. The occasion served as a poignant reunion for the remaining members of Migos, Quavo, and Offset, who came together to commemorate their dearly departed bandmate and family member.




In addition to Takeoff's inner circle, many of his closest friends were in attendance. To pay tribute to the influential rapper, candles were provided by The Rocket Flight Crew, one of Takeoff's fan clubs. These candles were lit in his honor, each bearing the names of his fans from across the globe who were unable to attend this significant gathering. The Rocket Flight Crew went above and beyond, creating custom cupcakes, Takeoff-themed key chains, necklaces, T-shirts, and birthday cards for attendees to sign. The outpouring of support from fans demonstrated the immense impact Takeoff had on people's lives, not only through his remarkable talent but also his compassionate heart.

                                                                     


The event provided an opportunity for everyone present to capture cherished moments at the captivating mural and join in singing a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday" dedicated to Takeoff. As the evening progressed, lanterns were lit and released into the evening sky, symbolizing the enduring spirit of Takeoff.


The reconciliation of Takeoff's former bandmates was a poignant moment, with everyone in attendance expressing gratitude for the role he played in bringing them back together. Known for his kind and loving nature, Takeoff's legacy extends far beyond his musical contributions.



The Rocket Flight Crew, a devoted group of six women from various cities across the United States, has taken on the responsibility of lighting candles at Takeoff's mural in Atlanta on behalf of his fans worldwide. The crew members themselves have been personally affected by Takeoff's untimely passing, having experienced the loss of loved ones to gun violence or witnessed its impact within their communities. Together, they strive to honor Takeoff's memory, keeping his legacy alive and raising awareness for The Rocket Foundation's mission. This foundation is committed to supporting programs that employ proven community-based solutions in preventing gun violence, ultimately saving lives.

Huncho Day Soars to New Heights: A Remarkable Official Launch for The Rocket Foundation

The fifth annual Huncho Day charity game, hosted by Quavo in partnership with Legends, took place at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia this past Saturday. The event attracted a star-studded lineup, with notable appearances by rapper J.I.D and NFL stars such as Jalen Ramsey, D’Andre Swift, Kyle Pitts, Aman-Ra St. Brown, Kenny Moore, and Diontae Johnson, among others. The highly anticipated occasion managed to raise an impressive $2 million for The Rocket Foundation, a charitable organization established to honor the late rapper Takeoff.


Reflecting on the event, Quavo expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I eagerly anticipate Huncho Day each year as it brings together close friends and allows me to return to the place where it all began for me." In a heartfelt statement, he added, "This year held special significance as we launched The Rocket Foundation in memory of Takeoff. It was a day filled with football, community fundraising, and cherished memories of Take."




Quavo emerged victorious with Team Huncho during the exhilarating football game against Team Ramsey, ultimately securing the win. He was rightfully recognized as the Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance. Serving as the event's host, Ronnie2k added to the excitement and energy throughout the day. In a symbolic gesture, Quavo presented The Rocket Foundation with a substantial $2 million check, representing the collective contributions made during the event.




The Rocket Foundation, established in 2022 following Takeoff's passing, operates with the mission to honor the life and legacy of Kirsnick Khari Ball, better known as "Takeoff." The organization's website states, "The Rocket Foundation is dedicated to supporting programs that save lives through community-based solutions proven to prevent gun violence." The funds raised during the event will be distributed among three deserving groups: the Community Justice Action Fund, H.O.P.E. HUSTLERS, LIVE FREE, and the Offenders Alumni Association.



The extraordinary success of Huncho Day has catapulted The Rocket Foundation to new heights, ensuring that Takeoff's memory lives on through the support of crucial programs combating gun violence. This remarkable launch serves as a testament to Quavo's dedication to philanthropy and his commitment to giving back to the community that shaped him.




Quavo's mum, Takeoff's mum who is also Quavo's older sister together with Takeoff's younger brother Lingo and little sister Heaven attended this ground breaking event. Takeoff's close friends also graced this event that was in memory of one of the best rappers and individual in the music industry.
