On June 18, 2023, Takeoff's family, friends, and devoted fans gathered at the renowned Takeoff mural, located on the Atlanta BeltLine, to celebrate the rapper's 29th birthday. This heartfelt event brought together loved ones and supporters to honor the memory of Takeoff, one of the members of the esteemed rap group Migos. Among the attendees were Takeoff's mother, grandmother, uncle and bandmate Quavo, brother Lingo, and little sister Heaven. Shara, Takeoff's aunt who is Quavo's sister, also graced the event with her presence. The occasion served as a poignant reunion for the remaining members of Migos, Quavo, and Offset, who came together to commemorate their dearly departed bandmate and family member.

In addition to Takeoff's inner circle, many of his closest friends were in attendance. To pay tribute to the influential rapper, candles were provided by The Rocket Flight Crew, one of Takeoff's fan clubs. These candles were lit in his honor, each bearing the names of his fans from across the globe who were unable to attend this significant gathering. The Rocket Flight Crew went above and beyond, creating custom cupcakes, Takeoff-themed key chains, necklaces, T-shirts, and birthday cards for attendees to sign. The outpouring of support from fans demonstrated the immense impact Takeoff had on people's lives, not only through his remarkable talent but also his compassionate heart.

                                                                     

The event provided an opportunity for everyone present to capture cherished moments at the captivating mural and join in singing a heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday" dedicated to Takeoff. As the evening progressed, lanterns were lit and released into the evening sky, symbolizing the enduring spirit of Takeoff.

The reconciliation of Takeoff's former bandmates was a poignant moment, with everyone in attendance expressing gratitude for the role he played in bringing them back together. Known for his kind and loving nature, Takeoff's legacy extends far beyond his musical contributions.

The Rocket Flight Crew, a devoted group of six women from various cities across the United States, has taken on the responsibility of lighting candles at Takeoff's mural in Atlanta on behalf of his fans worldwide. The crew members themselves have been personally affected by Takeoff's untimely passing, having experienced the loss of loved ones to gun violence or witnessed its impact within their communities. Together, they strive to honor Takeoff's memory, keeping his legacy alive and raising awareness for The Rocket Foundation's mission. This foundation is committed to supporting programs that employ proven community-based solutions in preventing gun violence, ultimately saving lives.

The fifth annual Huncho Day charity game, hosted by Quavo in partnership with Legends, took place at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia this past Saturday. The event attracted a star-studded lineup, with notable appearances by rapper J.I.D and NFL stars such as Jalen Ramsey, D’Andre Swift, Kyle Pitts, Aman-Ra St. Brown, Kenny Moore, and Diontae Johnson, among others. The highly anticipated occasion managed to raise an impressive $2 million for The Rocket Foundation, a charitable organization established to honor the late rapper Takeoff.

Reflecting on the event, Quavo expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I eagerly anticipate Huncho Day each year as it brings together close friends and allows me to return to the place where it all began for me." In a heartfelt statement, he added, "This year held special significance as we launched The Rocket Foundation in memory of Takeoff. It was a day filled with football, community fundraising, and cherished memories of Take."

Quavo emerged victorious with Team Huncho during the exhilarating football game against Team Ramsey, ultimately securing the win. He was rightfully recognized as the Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance. Serving as the event's host, Ronnie2k added to the excitement and energy throughout the day. In a symbolic gesture, Quavo presented The Rocket Foundation with a substantial $2 million check, representing the collective contributions made during the event.

The Rocket Foundation, established in 2022 following Takeoff's passing, operates with the mission to honor the life and legacy of Kirsnick Khari Ball, better known as "Takeoff." The organization's website states, "The Rocket Foundation is dedicated to supporting programs that save lives through community-based solutions proven to prevent gun violence." The funds raised during the event will be distributed among three deserving groups: the Community Justice Action Fund, H.O.P.E. HUSTLERS, LIVE FREE, and the Offenders Alumni Association.

The extraordinary success of Huncho Day has catapulted The Rocket Foundation to new heights, ensuring that Takeoff's memory lives on through the support of crucial programs combating gun violence. This remarkable launch serves as a testament to Quavo's dedication to philanthropy and his commitment to giving back to the community that shaped him.

Quavo's mum, Takeoff's mum who is also Quavo's older sister together with Takeoff's younger brother Lingo and little sister Heaven attended this ground breaking event. Takeoff's close friends also graced this event that was in memory of one of the best rappers and individual in the music industry.

 

Calvin Harris Pays Tribute To Takeoff in Coachella.

No one Can Dim A Light That Is Meant To Keep Shinning - Takeoff Is Forever Shinning

Calvin Harris returned to the main stage for the first time in seven years to bang out hits at Coachella. Calvin Harris paid tribute to Takeoff at Coachella with Version of Migos and Frank Ocean Collaboration 'Slide'. 

He previously released the song, without a Takeoff verse, in 2017 as part of his album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1

The DJ and producer unveiled a previously unreleased version of his 2017 smash "Slide" which features Frank Ocean and two members of the Atlanta rap trio Quavo and Offset at Coachella on Saturday night with a verse from Takeoff.

Harris included Takeoff verse at the end of the song, where it got a chance to shine, saving the best for last along with an image of the rapper appearing on stage. The track notably only featured Migos members Offset and Quavo, but was billed as a Migos collaboration in 2017.

Takeoff's verse wasn't brand new, as it is the same verse that appears on Harris' Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 collaboration with the rapper, "Holiday." This was a special moment for Takeoffs family,fans and friends as all the three Migos were all on the track for the first time ever.

Harris' performance, was known as "Returning to the Desert," and he aced it as always. It came as a beautiful surprise at the end ,when he played Takeoff's verse which sounded amazing. No one can dim a light that is meant to shine and Takeoff is still shinning. Takeoff is forever shinning.

South African rapper AKA(Kiernan Forbes) and DJ Zinhle's romantic relationship become public in 2014 and soon after they became proud parents to a baby girl named Kairo Olwethu Forbes in 2015. AKA from the start showed himself as the most loving and dedicated father to his daughter, consistently displaying his affection and support for her through his actions and social media posts.

He was a proud hands-on dad taking his responsibilities as a father seriously. His affection for his daughter Kairo who looks so much like her dad is evident in the pictures and videos shared on social media.

AKA was the best dad to his daughter who always brought out the best of him. He gave Kairo her first flowers. He wanted to be the first man to give Kairo flowers. He was also over protective and said he wanted to be the only man who gives her flowers. This was a way of showing Kairo that she is loved and worthy of love. When a dad gives his daughter flowers , he is telling his daughter she should always know that she is always worth and she always deserves true love.

AKA shared an incredible bond with his daughter Kairo. He is indeed the best dad in the world for her. All daughters could use a dad like Kiernan and it will be a blessing for all dad's to be Kiernan. All children need all the love and affection from their parents.

I am so sorry that you have been robbed of your time with your daughter, with @nadianakai, Steffan, your mom @lynnforbesza , dad and all of us. I would give anything for Kairo to have more time with you Kiernan. The thought of her asking questions breaks me. What do I do when she misses and needs you?

Please watch over her and plead with The Almighty to guide Bongani @murdahbongz and I as we raise our daughter.

The last time I saw you, you told me how proud you are of us and how well we were co-parenting, we had come a long way and even though it challenged a lot of people in how well we co-parented. It was never about society or us, it was always about our daughter and what was best for her.

We quickly learnt that our differences would not be a burden for our daughter, our past mistakes could not deprive our daughter of a happy childhood with love from both mom and dad. I am so glad we figured it out, it’s as if we knew you would not be around long enough. Thank you for loving her the way you did.

We will continue to do what’s best for her, we will raise her in a loving environment that encourages forgiveness, one that is deeply rooted in the great spirit of being a family…over everything else. We are all responsible for her happiness now, my family and yours will pull together to make sure she is the happiest girl in the world...exactly how you always made her feel.

Being the younger brother to Takeoff , YRN Lingo speaks of the pain of losing his older brother in 'Still Hurting'. He pours his heart and feelings in this song. He promises to keep his brother Takeoff's legacy alive and also promises to take care of their mama and small sister.

Born on May 4, 1997, YRN Lingo is known among his fans by his stage name Lingo Mufasa. He is a native of Atlanta in the United States.

YRN Lingo started his career as a rapper with 'Coming For Your Ice' in 2015. He later gained recognition for his single 'Can’t Take A L' ,which featured Migo Domingo and Mango Foo.Lingo is also famous for his collaborations with artists like Lil Quill, Yung Mal, and Goonew.
